Square brackets enclose ranges, so searching on Word contains "b[aeiou]t" returns words with bat, bet, bit, bot, but.
Inside square brackets an exclamation mark means "Not", so searching on Word contains "b[!ae]t" returns words with <b> and <t> but not <bat> or <bet>.
